Calculate The Impact - From Cradle to Grave

In order for the Volvo Trucks customers, and others concerned, to get figures and facts on how our trucks affect the environment, we have produced an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

The Volvo Trucks EPD is an on-line application containing information about materials, energy consumption, emissions etc, which enables you to calculate the environmental impact of the production, usage or end life of a Volvo truck - or its complete life cycle.

The EPD is designed primarily as an aid for clients who want to be able to demonstrate their environmental commitment to their own customers. Volvo Trucks was actually the first manufacturer in the world to create this innovative aid.

The EPD Calculator
The EPD Calculator can compute the environmental impact of a single Volvo Trucks transport operation, or the complete life cycle of a truck. The Calculator can be used for two of our best-selling trucks - the Volvo FH and Volvo FM.

A list of materials - totaling 6,700 kg in weight, equivalent to those used in a Volvo FH or Volvo FM 4x2 tractor - is used as a basis for the EPD calculations.
