Materials and recycling

Approximately 85-90% of a Volvo truck is recycled and about one-third (33% by weight) of the materials used in a new truck are derived from recycled material. We are able to do this since for example all plastic components weighing more than 50 grams are labelled to allow for easy identification.

To assure that Volvo trucks can be recycled and re-used we are also renovating used parts, providing dismantling manuals and in some countries we operate dismantling facilities.
