Where will I stay during my Training?
You will carry out your training through fifteen two-week periods at the bespoke Volvo Training Academy. During this time you will stay in hand-picked, nearby, accommodation run by DBS (formerly CRB) checked landladies and landlords, many of whom have been partners of the academy for many years (some are actually employees at the college).
Transport to and from the Training Centre will also be provided if required. The cost of the accommodation will be met by your sponsorship dealer.
What about duty of care?
We have a duty of care for all learners who take part in Apprenticeship Programmes through our many arrangements with Motor Vehicle Manufacturers, Groups and independent companies. All necessary measures are taken to ensure that stringent health and safety measures are adhered to at all times.
Will we need to provide clothing or uniform?
During off the job training necessary overalls and protective footwear must be provided by the learner but all other tools and items of protective equipment are provided.
Are there more opportunities for training and promotion?
Yes, provided that you qualify in your chosen vocation, the opportunities are endless beyond then depending on ambition. We encourage all our technicians to increase their knowledge with further technical training courses and even the opportunity to work towards VAS Frontline Technician.
