VISTA – Volvo Trucks’ and Volvo Buses’ world championship for service and workshop personnel – is once again about to begin, with registrations being accepted from 1st July. When round one of the competition kicks off in September, it is hoped that over 14,000 participants will be taking part.
VISTA (Volvo International Service Training Award) is open to all aftersales employees within the Volvo Trucks' and Volvo Buses' global service network, with participants forming teams of up to four people. The aim of the competition is to help employees develop and improve' their knowledge, skills, and ability to work as a team.
"VISTA continues to make a huge contribution to improving competence developing and customer service. Therefore it strongly contributes to our vision of becoming a Customer Company," says Claes Nilsson, President, Volvo Trucks. "Every participant, no matter how experienced they are, will learn something new, and this is why it continues to be so successful. VISTA is more than a competition - it's a mass training event and an enjoyable team building exercise. VISTA 2012-2013 won't be any different."
Registrations close on 7th September, with Round One started only a few days later. After three questionnaire rounds and semi finals, the competition culminates with the World Final, which will be held in June 2013, in Volvo's birthplace and spiritual home: Gothenburg, Sweden.
VISTA originally started in 1957 as a competition exclusively for Volvo technicians in Sweden, but has since rapidly grown to become an international biennial event, and the largest competition for aftermarket personnel in the world. VISTA 2011 was the biggest yet, involving over 13,700 participants from 75 different countries. However VISTA 2012-2013 has the potential to be even bigger and better.
