Volvo Trucks supports disaster relief efforts – especially those involving a significant loss of life – as part of our commitment to being a responsive and caring corporate citizen.  Depending on the situation, we may take the lead in an aid campaign or support the continental or global efforts of the Volvo Group.

Following are recent examples of the support Volvo Trucks in North America has provided to disaster relief efforts:

Haiti Earthquake (January 2010)

  • Donated $10,000 (corporate contribution)
  • Raised $7,000 in employee donations
  • Provided $5,000 to a Volvo dealer in Oregon for expenses incurred to deliver medical staff and supplies via private plane

Hurricane Katrina, Gulf Coast of U.S. (August 2005)

  • Donated $40,000 (corporate contribution)
  • Raised $38,568 in employee contributions 
  • Donated trucks, trailers and personnel to transport relief supplies

Indian Ocean Earthquake and Tsunami (December 2004) 

  • Raised more than $90,000 for relief efforts from Volvo Group employees and companies in North America
