Disaster Relief

disaster relief

In October 2012, Hurricane Sandy devastated communities across the northeastern U.S. Property losses from Sandy are in the billions, making it the second costliest storm in U.S. history.

Volvo Trucks supports disaster relief efforts – especially those involving a significant loss of life – as part of our commitment to being a responsible and caring corporate citizen. When Sandy hit, employees responded immediately to a call for Red Cross donations, and Volvo matched these donations with a corporate contribution.

Depending on the situation, Volvo Trucks may take the lead in an aid campaign, as we did with Hurricane Sandy, or support the continental or global efforts of the Volvo Group. One such effort is Volvo’s sponsorship of three Oxfam International projects in countries that have been hit hard by natural disasters.
