The environmental impact of a truck is mainly generated from exhaust emissions. That is why we go all the way when it comes to research and development in cutting emissions and be at the forefront of environmental technology.

Efficient exhaust after-treatment
Diesel engines are highly energy efficient. During combustion the temperature level is high and there is a surplus of air, to make sure that the combustion is almost complete. The hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide levels are low compared with petrol ("otto") engines.

On the other hand diesel engines produce more nitrogen oxides and particles than otto engines. By monitoring combustion, the balance between hydrocarbons/carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides are regulated.

Fuel quality
Diesel fuel has a higher energy value than petrol, but it also contains higher levels of sulphur and aromatic hydrocarbons. Currently, low-sulphur fuel can be found in e.g. Sweden, Finland and the United Kingdom.

Cleaning Techniques
There are several ways of reducing emissions. Filters or particle traps reduce the quantity of particles discharged, whereas the catalytic converter efficiently burns exhaust gases under controlled conditions.
 
The Diesel Particle Filter kit can be retrofitted on trucks with Euro 2 and Euro 3 engines, which will make it possible to drive within the environmental zones.
 
It effectively reduces substances that affect health - carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and soot particles in the exhaust gases. The closed filter reduces emissions that affect health by 80-95%, while keeping engine power intact.

There are also new engine technologies that meet tough legislations. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) is today used parallel with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) in some markets.
