ACC - Adaptive Cruise Control

Aircraft technology for safety

Using combat aircraft technology, the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system helps you maintain the distance to other vehicles.

ACC has been updated and refined. The system now utilises the truck's wheel brakes when slowing down, making the system even more powerful. The new ACC also interacts with I-Shift so it can only be specified with trucks equipped with Volvo's automatic gearchanging system.

With conventional cruise control you are tied to a certain speed. But ACC also selects the time gap to the vehicle in front of you. You can set a safety margin of, for example, three seconds and the ACC system will maintain the distance with automatic regulation of throttle or brakes. The ACC will handle 90% of all braking situations. If a vehicle in front panic-brakes, you will be alerted by an audible signal and a light signal.
