New Volvo FM headlights

The future ahead looks bright.
So do the curves and corners.

To stay safe on the road, you need good lighting. The Volvo FM headlights have been improved and now feature:

  • Improved main beam
  • Dynamic headlights
  • Enhanced static cornering lights
  • Approach light
The comparison above depicts the light pattern with standard halogen lamps.

Leading main beam.

When driving at night, Volvo FM is a particularly good friend. The headlights produce a powerful beam, providing you with an early view of what is happening down the road. And, just as important, other road users will see you stand out in the dark.

Dynamic headlights

Dynamic headlights.

First introduced on the new Volvo FH – now available for the Volvo FM. It allows the dipped beam to pan to follow the road. Whenever you make a curve, so do the lights. On many stretches, this leads to a massively increased field of vision.

Static cornering lights

Static cornering lights.

When you slow down to turn a corner in the dark, the enhanced static cornering lights come to your assistance. As soon as you activate the turn signal, the immediate area on the side lights up, helping you spot unprotected road users.

Approach light

Approach light.

When approaching the truck at night, just push the button on the remote key fob. The interior and exterior light up, letting you easily find and safely enter your truck.

Headlight switching

On at dusk and off at dawn. Automatically.

The headlights now come with automatic switching as an option. Just like on a car, a sensor detect when the dipped beam needs to be activated and does this automatically for you. And as soon as the light conditions allow, it automatically switches back to daytime running lights.
