In North America, Volvo Trucks provides financial and in-kind support to community organizations as well as the transportation industry.  We direct available funds to areas that will have the most impact, and we give priority to organizations that reinforce Volvo's core values of quality, safety and environmental care.  Recipients of our contributions generally fall into one of four categories:
  • Health and welfare
  • Education
  • Civic and community improvement
  • Art and culture

In the Health and Welfare category, for example, Volvo Trucks donates money to local organizations who supply car safety seats to low-income families. Our employees also give generously to support community needs; the Greensboro, N.C., headquarters for Volvo Trucks ranks in the top 10 in the North Carolina Triad region in United Way giving.

One of the ways we support education is by donating obsolete engines, transmissions and other components to training centers for truck drivers and technicians. Our commitment to arts and culture includes sponsorship of the Greensboro Children’s Museum, which features a Volvo truck cab and highway safety displays.
