In North America, Volvo Trucks provides financial and in-kind support to community organizations as well as the transportation industry. We direct available funds to areas that will have the most impact, and we give priority to organizations that reinforce Volvo's core values of quality, safety and environmental care. Recipients of our contributions generally fall into one of four categories:
- Health and welfare
- Education
- Civic and community improvement
- Art and culture
In Greensboro, NC, where Volvo Trucks has its Americas headquarters, the company promotes safety by funding the purchase of child passenger seats for low-income families. Employees also give generously to support community needs; each year, Volvo Group employees in Greensboro rank among the top 10 in the region in United Way giving. To benefit the transportation industry, Volvo Trucks donates obsolete engines, transmissions and other components to training centers for drivers and technicians.
