The new Volvo FM comes with numerous specification options, making it easy to tailor to your exact requirements. Thanks to this flexibility you can always get a Volvo FM that’s perfectly prepared for your application.
The better we can prepare the truck for the bodybuilder, the less time your Volvo FM needs to spend at the workshop. When the truck is perfectly prepared from factory, the bodybuilder can also avoid unnecessary reconstruction work of the actual truck. You not only save time, but can also be sure that your truck keeps its original Volvo quality.

Unlike most other trucks, a Volvo features a frame that is completely straight and parallel behind the cab. This makes the bodybuilder’s job a whole lot easier.
We never allow our engineers to place any-thing above the top of the frame. This area belongs entirely to the bodybuilder – adding a lot of flexibility.
The frame comes with an upper row of holes that is designated for the superstructure. Since we don’t use any rivets here, the bodybuilder can easily attach the equipment.
The rear frame can now be factory cut exactly as you need it – in 50 mm increments – to perfectly match your super-structure. Regardless of whether you need an extremely short rear overhang or a longer one.
The more possible combinations, the easier a truck is to tailor. That’s why the new Volvo FM has more options than ever before when it comes to axle configurations, chassis heights and wheel bases. View the complete chassis specs.
We can now deliver your FM from factory with four different rear frame end cuts: upper (for tippers, hook-lifts and refuse trucks), lower (for centre-axle trailers), bent (for tractors) or straight (for rigids).
To widen the rear end options even further, the rear underrun protection can be placed in several different positions.
Choose between a 266 mm and a 300 mm frame depending on the demands of the superstructure.
