Volvo Trucks unveils the all-new Volvo VNX in North America

Volvo Trucks has launched the all-new Volvo VNX, a heavy-duty truck engineered from the ground up for North America's most demanding work. The all-new Volvo VNX is the third truck that Volvo has introduced in North America in less than three years.

Volvo has unveiled the all-new Volvo VNX in North America, designed for demanding work including construction, concrete, infrastructure, and heavy-haul highway.

The all-new Volvo VNX completes the renewal of Volvo's North American lineup that began with the all-new Volvo VNL in 2024 and continued with the all-new Volvo VNR in 2025. The three trucks share a common platform, the result of Volvo's 30 billion SEK ($3 billion) investment in product development and manufacturing.

The all-new Volvo VNX targets the vocational and heavy haul segment, where commercial trucks are designed and built for demanding work including construction, concrete, infrastructure, agriculture, and heavy-haul highway.

“This is Volvo like you’ve never seen before. The all-new Volvo VNX is the toughest, safest, most connected and most powerful vocational truck we have ever built. Designed specifically for North America and for the most demanding jobs, it marks a major step forward for Volvo Trucks in the vocational segment,” said Peter Voorhoeve, president, Volvo Trucks North America.

Safety built for the jobsite

The all-new Volvo VNX is built for increased safety with Volvo's advanced safety systems. It carries forward the same industry-leading safety platform introduced on the Volvo VNL and Volvo VNR. The standard forward pedestrian detection continually scans for people around the truck, and optional blind spot detection, now available on both sides, warns the driver with an amber light and an audible alert if a person is moving alongside the truck and trailer and a lane change or door open is attempted. A 360-degree camera system further enhances situational awareness, providing a top-down view around the entire cab.

The new truck uses one-third more Ultra High Strength Steel in the cab than legacy vocational products, and standard driver side curtain airbags make Volvo the only OEM in North America to offer them on a vocational truck.

Comfort built for the driver

The all-new Volvo VNX is built from the driver out, with a cab engineered to cut noise and dampen vibration. Volvo’s active power steering technology, Volvo Dynamic Steering, eases driver strain and keeps the truck steady even when the ground isn't, giving drivers more control with less fatigue behind the wheel.

The truck runs on Volvo’s proven D13 platform, now rated up to 540 horsepower and 2600 Nm of torque, with an engine brake delivering up to 630 braking horsepower. The engine is certified to EPA 2027 emissions standards.

The all-new Volvo VNX is Volvo's most connected vocational truck yet. Every Volvo VNX comes with a factory-installed 4G telematics gateway, powering Remote Diagnostics that monitor the truck 24/7 and flag potential issues before they put a truck out of service. Remote Programming delivers software and parameter updates over-the-air so trucks stay on the job instead of sitting in the shop.

Start of sales for the all-new Volvo VNX will be announced later this year.
