Volvo FM gas-powered
The Volvo FM gas-powered is designed to give you the power and fuel-saving capabilities to match your long and regional haul, distribution, waste and recycling, and public services and utilities needs. It has the same performance and productivity as a Volvo fueled with diesel, and you can choose between 420 hp, 460 hp, or 500 hp power ratings with up to 2800 Nm of torque.

Raising the bar on braking power
The Volvo Engine Brake (VEB) offers power across the full spectrum of revs, with 470 kW at 2300 rpm, making it the strongest engine brake for a truck with a 13-litre engine.
With the retarder, the brake torque you’ll get is 3600 Nm while keeping the brake power of 450 kW and reducing the weight by 2 kg. The high torque means that full brake power is reached at lower vehicle speeds.

The aerodynamic cab and Camera Monitor System replace traditional mirrors to save energy and reduce drag at high speeds. And with adaptive high beam lighting, you see more, without disturbing anyone else.

Brake quickly and safely
The Volvo Engine Brake enhances braking performance at low engine speeds, reducing downshifting and maintaining consistent control. For added braking power, a driveline retarder is recommended, particularly with heavy loads on rolling terrain.

I-Shift is a range of automated transmissions that help you optimize the performance and efficiency of your powertrain. Choose low and ultra-low crawler gears, tailored software for extreme startability, and one-pedal driving when taking on tough terrain and shifting between forward and reverse.
Reducing emissions
The 13-liter gas-powered engine is already optimized to help deliver fuel efficiency and lower costs. With LNG instead of diesel, you can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 20%. You can also choose renewable bio-LNG when it makes sense and get up to 100% CO2 reduction with bio-LNG using HVO 100.
