Stop. Look. Wave.

Stop.

Stop before crossing a street.

Look.

Look both ways and make sure you have eye contact with drivers.

Wave.

Wave and wait for a wave back to confirm that the driver have seen you before you walk across to the other site of the street.

A global campaign to keep children safer

More than 260,000 people under the age of 19 die in traffic accidents around the world every year, according to the World Health Organization. Too many of these accidents involve trucks and buses.

In 2015, Volvo Trucks took a step towards trying to improve this depressing statistic. We launched the Stop Look Wave campaign.

A challenge was issued to all our employees based around the world. They were encouraged to get involved in promoting safety for their own children and for children in their communities.

Through our traffic research analysis of real-life accidents, it is clear that the majority of road accidents involve human behavior. Children are the most vulnerable of all road traffic users.

This is why we work on all aspects of safety, as well as developing many innovative safety features for our products.

Stop Look Wave is designed to teach children all around the world about the dangers they face in traffic every day.
